In The News : Todd Fritsch appears in Western Movie

Todd Fritsch has appeared in his first feature movie with fellow Texans Trent Willmon and Kinky Friedman, along with country music stars Mel Tillis and Roy Clark. Playing the role of a gunman, Fritsch felt comfortable in his new role as a 'movie star'.
His previous experience in front of a camera during the shooting of his music video for "What's Wrong With Me" has certainly paid dividends but Fritsch was quick to point out: "Not sure if the whole movie thing could be my full time job", Fritsch laughs, "but this was a great team of people to work with and an exceptional experience for me. Thanks to everybody for making me feel like I belonged on that set".
Lights, camera, action…. Hang on to your cowboy hats; strap on your six- shooters; there’s a “rootin, tootin, cowboy shootin” film being produced at Enchanted Springs Ranch. For several months you can hear the sounds of gunfire as the cameras roll.
Cottonwood Entertainment has teamed up with Enchanted Springs Ranch and Henslee Productions to produce a family friendly western film to be released in the summer of 2008. “Palo Pinto Gold” is set in the 1800’s when men lived by their word and a man’s name and character meant everything. The film is for all ages and parents do not need to worry about offensive language, adult situations or graphic violence. Although this film is “kid friendly,” adults will enjoy this action-packed western tale as well.

The story begins with Jake Landers (Trent Willmon, Nashville Country singer) as a little tyke trying to follow in his father’s footsteps. In time, Jake’s directive is to bring down the bad guys and lead them to justice. Jake, with the help of his father’s friend, Ben Crowder (Anthony Henslee), hunts down and captures the outlaws led by Shane Stocksteal (Glynn Praesel) that prey on the innocent. Kinky Friedman, Roy Clark, Mel Tillis, Joaquin Jackson (retired Texas Ranger) and Billy Hart (retired Hollywood stuntman/actor) round out the cast. Many of our own will be involved with this production as well.
Many hours have gone into the production of this film. “Palo Pinto Gold”, was co-written by Anthony Henslee (Producer, Director) and Steve Schmidt (Executive Producer). Perhaps Associate Producer Bob Nowotny, whose many credits include the Emmy Award-winning THE LEGEND OF BILLY THE KID, says it best: “They don’t make Westerns like this anymore!” Don’t miss “Palo Pinto Gold” in theaters summer 2008.
